RE-OPENING PLANS FOR LOGOS
June 10, 2020

On Monday June 8th we all heard the wonderful news that places of worship across Ontario will be allowed to open at 30% capacity.  PRAISE THE LORD!!! As much as the news was welcoming, it was not expected since group gatherings will only increase from 5 to 10 people, and it was expected that if churches would re-open, the allowance may have been for 20-30 people.  For Logos, the 30% capacity would mean approximately 150 people would be permitted in a church service.

In order for Logos to re-open, we need certain COVID protocols in place. Upon looking at our PLAN TO PROTECT (which includes not only the safety of children and vulnerable people, but health and safety policies), we need to implement a re-opening plan, and that cannot happen without human resources and training.  Logos will be having  on-site training of staff, board members and volunteers in the immediate future as the focus is to ensure that Logos will be safe and sanitized at all times for anyone who enters. Up to this point we were not permitted to gather at the church for such a meeting, however now that restrictions have lessened, it is imperative to do on site training in order to re-open.

OUR PLAN IS TO RE-OPEN GRADUALLY.  We will have the Friday Night Prayer Meeting reinstalled first, secondly our Wednesday Night Bible Study, and then our Sunday Service. Details to all of this will follow as THERE IS NO SET DATE OF RE-OPENING, but rest assured it will be done gradually ensuring the safety of all.

When we re-open, things will be different than before, and the changes will feel odd and foreign.  We might not all like the idea of wearing masks and gloves and following all these COVID protocols in church.  Our priority however is to keep people safe and to comply with safety protocols.  Ontario daycare centres will be fined $1000 per day per child if they exceed the limit of children at a location.  If daycare centres will be surveyed for their compliance, how much more will larger establishments such as churches be surveyed, so we need to ensure that everything is in place to re-open.

Let us work together as the Body of Christ! We look forward to reuniting as a church and having incredible services in His presence!  Yes things may “feel” different, but when we focus on Him, all that matters… IS HIS PRESENCE, and it’s His presence we long for!! Zephaniah 3:17 ” The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness; He will quiet you by his love; He will exult over you with loud singing.”

SUNDAY MORNING SERVICES CANCELLED

Greetings Dear Congregants of Logos Christian Family Church,

Our Logos staff has been constantly monitoring the situation of the COVID-19 virus and its impact in our city.  However, in all this we want to remain firmly grounded in the Truth and fix our attention on Jesus. We do not make decisions out of fear but instead  follow His example to love our neighbours and to care for those around us who may be more vulnerable. This has led us, with information and recommendations provided by the Public Health Agency of Canada and concerns expressed by our church family, to consider a number of proactive measures.  We want to be wise, caring, responsible, and compassionate during this uncertain time.

In today’s breaking news Dr. David Williams, Chief Medical Officer of Ontario, is recommending the immediate suspension of all large events and public gatherings of over 250 people due to COVID-19.  Seeing the fact that Logos Christian Family Church well exceeds that amount, we have decided that we will be postponing SUNDAY MORNING SERVICES ONLY until further notice for the well being and safety of our congregants.

This Sunday morning service entitled COVID 19: THE PANDEMIC OF FEAR will be broadcast on Facebook Live (go to our Facebook page @logoschristianfamilychurch) and will later in the day be available on our YouTube channel  www.youtube.com/c/logoschurchca   Please do not miss this powerful message and be sure to create a WATCH PARTY on Facebook to share with all your personal friends!  This is a timely message for what we are facing, and Pastor Dino feels strongly that this needs to be heard!  Kindly go to our Facebook and share the advertisement banner on your own personal pages to advertise.

Office hours for now at Logos will be WEDNESDAY and FRIDAY from 9am – 4pm and there will still be Wednesday Night Bible Study (we are below 250), Kids Club and Friday Night Prayer.  Please come out on your own discretion.  In addition NOONTIME daily prayer will be cancelled for now.

For those who want their tax donation receipts, they will be available next Wednesday and Friday for pick up.

Although the numbers of those infected with COVID-19  remain statistically low in Ontario, the World Health Organization has identified the spread of COVID-19 to be a pandemic. Based on the information available to us from the (WHO), the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), and recommendations from other community organizations, Logos Christian Family Church offers the following as recommendations and best practices in response to current concerns:

For those wishing to come out Wednesdays and Friday nights:

  • If you are feeling unwell, or experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough, or difficulty breathing; if you have a pre-existing medical condition which makes you vulnerable or susceptible to contagious illnesses we ask that you stay home to protect yourself and others.
  • When in church, although we are loving and social at Logos, please REFRAIN from hugs and handshakingA verbal greeting or a wave would be sufficient as I know everyone still wants to be friendly.
  • Avoid touching your face, mouth and nose with unwashed hands.
  • Cough or sneeze in the pit of your elbow.

WASHING OF HANDS:

Hand washing, the most important tool available to us to prevent the spread of infection.

  • Use warm running water.
  • Lather hands for at least 20 seconds.
  • Dry hands with paper towel.
  • Use paper towel to turn off taps.

Hand sanitizing is the next best alternative.

  • Hands should be free of any visible debris, and a sufficient amount of sanitizer is used to thoroughly cover hands. Rub hands together, covering the entire surface of the hands, until the hands are dry. We will have sanitizers in the lobby.

At Logos we care about the safety of our congregants, so all pews will be wiped down with a disinfecting anti-bacterial cleaner prior to the Wednesday Night Bible Study and Friday Night Prayer.

PRAYER

Logos is a praying church and we will continue to pray!! Please join us in asking God to strengthen those who are ill and those on the front lines fighting this virus, and to bring His peace to our hearts and minds as we present our requests to Him.  Let us trust in Him to heal our land as we cry out to Him!  2 Chronicle 7:14 “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and WILL HEAL THEIR LAND.”  This is an opportunity for us to pray like never before, so let’s use our time to seek His face and cry out for revival like never before!
